The Coins Auction at McTear’s continues to thrive, and June’s auction was no exception.
Lot 1506, UNICEF International Year of the Child Coin Programme Gold Proof Set, was the star of the show selling mid estimate at a whopping £3550.
Commemorative sets were selling well, with several selling far above estimate. A particular highlight was lot 1509, Nelson Mandela Robin Island Commemorative 2oz medallion, which sold for £1300. Lot 1510, a Nobel Peace Prize 1993 Winners Gold and Silver Coin Set, also caught the eye, selling for an impressive £1200!
American coins also continued to be popular with our buyers. Lots 1514 and 1515, both American Twenty Dollar coins, each exceeded the £700 mark.
The next Coins Auction on the 8th July is already shaping up well. For more information on buying or selling coins please contact Elaine Grieve or Benjamin Bailey on 0141 810 2880, or firstname.lastname@example.org
