Starchild's Art for Africa auction has been a huge success so far,
gaining huge amounts of media attention. With still over 24 hours to go before bidding ends, bidding totals over £6,500.
Peter Howson, Frank McFadden and a staggering number of other artists have come together to help Starchild Charity build a school for the most vulnerable children in Uganda. This school will have a focus on much needed arts programs as well as the three R's.
Lot 4 - Paulo Santos (Alipio), "The Thrump", presently with bids at £50...
£50 buys exercise books and pencils for 150 children
£5000 can build a classroom. The current auction amount raised so far will pay for a classroom.
Lot 41 - Laetitia Guilbaud "Marchand D' Amour"
currently at £210, this pays a teacher's salary for two months.
McTear's is waiving the vendor commission and the buyer's premium. This means that ALL the proceeds from this sale will go directly to Starchild to aid vulnerable children. It also means YOU can purchase a piece of original art for a lot less than you would normally expect to pay and each £1 you bid, buys another brick!
Still time to bid - Online auction ends at 9pm tomorrow evening (3rd November).
