MARVELLOUS MACALLAN  The Rare & Collectable Whisky Auction this April at McTear’s showcases an excellent selection of Scottish whisky, with hundreds of magnificent malts, brilliant blends and great grain whiskies.

Once again McTear’s are spoilt for choice with some excellent examples of Macallan, with three of Gran Reservas (Lots 977, 1068 and 1101), two 25 Year Old Anniversary Malts (Lots 1055 and 1061) and a 1981 Royal Marriage bottling in Lot 1067. Other lots of note come in the form of Cadenhead ‘dumpy’ bottlings in lots 1104-1107, which are sure to cause a stir amongst bidders and, with each valued at £300-400, there are some serious bargains to be had. Lot 1199 features two different 10 Year Old expressions of Macallan, but most interestingly, a Flower of Scotland bottling from their ‘Sporting Heroes’ range paying tribute to Ryan Giggs. At £80-120, this lot represents great value for whisky drinkers.

Finally, McTear’s are delighted to see the return of The Wine Auction this month, with a wonderful selection of wines from France and beyond. The Sir Winston Churchill 1988 Champagne Jeroboam makes a triumphant return, after making an impressive £1300 hammer price in March.
