This April’s Scottish Contemporary Art Auction saw plenty of excitement, with bidders online, on the phone and in the saleroom. The first lot attracted much interest pre-auction and a bidding flurry brought the hammer down at six times low estimate. Other notable successes were to be found among the John Bellany oils and watercolour, including a large still life oil achieving £7,750. A stellar oil by Lilian Neilsen proved popular, with a hammer price of £5,000, and a pair of oils by Sally Anne Fitter with a combined hammer of £1,300.
Entries are invited for our next Scottish Contemporary Art Auction taking place on 29 May.
