This August’s Scottish Contemporary Art Auction saw plenty of excitement in the room, on the phone and online, with bids coming in from all over the world. Some highlights of the Sunday sale included spectacular large canvases by Steven Campbell and Peter Howson selling for £18,000 and £11,250 respectively. Always with humour and charm in his pictures, Graham McKean saw success with his oil ‘Sex and Drugs and Sausage Rolls’ selling for £1,300, after plenty of telephone interest and online bidding. The star of the show was Heather Nevay, with a total of 6 pictures selling for a collective £13,320, from large and complex oils to petite and whimsical pictures.
