A rare medal from Heart of Midlothian’s victorious 1896-97 Scottish League Championship campaign was the star lot in this auction, selling for nearly triple the low estimate at £13,000!
This wasn’t all in a sale packed with the very best of sporting medals, trophies and jerseys, with the 100 lots that formed the Paul Goodwin collection, selling for over £10,000. This included Alan Morton and Jimmy Blair’s matchworn Scotland international jerseys, which saw the hammer come down at £2,600 and £1,700 respectively.
Likewise, medals from teams including Greenock Morton, Falkirk and Rangers saw fierce competition from fans and collectors alike.
The next Sporting auction takes place on 13 August 2021. Entries are invited. For a complimentary, no-obligation valuation, visit our Glasgow Galleries or contact a specialist by clicking this link and completing the short form.
