Note: Jack Morrocco was born in Edinburgh in 1953 and following his education at Madras College, St Andrews, started his art study at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee shortly after his seventeenth birthday (the youngest in his academic year). He studied under David McClure, Jack Knox and his uncle Alberto Morrocco before being selected to study at Hospital House (Arbroath) during the summer of 1973 when the visiting tutor was the renowned pop artist Sir Peter Blake. Jack was awarded a post graduate year of study (highly commended) in 1975 as well as the Farquhar Reid travelling scholarship which was spent in Paris and Florence. Having resolved to avoid a career in art education, Jack started a design consultancy which he ran successfully until 1996 but he also continued to submit his work to both the RSA and RGI. He returned to full time painting in 1997 and now works from his studios in Fife and the south of France. His paintings are enthusiastically collected in the UK and abroad and he is widely regarded as one of Scotland's foremost contemporary artists.
A condition report is offered as an indication of any issues visible to the naked eye. As none of our staff is a professional conservator or restorer, buyers must satisfy themselves in respect of condition and McTear’s can provide contact details of local professionals who can provide fully comprehensive expert reports, usually for a modest charge. The condition report does not form part of any contract between McTear's and the buyer, and all lots are offered "as is" in accordance with our Terms of Business available on our website.
