FRENCH EMPIRE ORMOLU MANTEL CLOCK,
the circular dial resting against a swimming dolphin with a figure of Arion surmount, the gilded circular dial with Roman numerals and two train eight day movement, on an oblong base with a wide frieze moulded in low relief with 'Arion's Rescue', on block supports decorated with a trident, 52cm high
Note: Although notable for his musical inventions Arion is chiefly remembered for his fantastic myth of his kidnapping by pirates and miraculous rescue by dolphins.

Clock winds, though there is no pendulum. Movement not ticking at time of testing. The case is in good to fair condition, light wear as per age, including to the Roman numerals. The glass dial cover is missing.
