* JACK FIRTH RSW (1917 - 2010), TREVEAGUE FARM watercolour on paper, signed 25cm x 54cm Mounted, framed and under glass. Note: Acquired the Open Eye Gallery (Edinburgh) Label verso: The Open Eye Gallery, 75/79 Cumberland Street, Edinburgh Edinburgh-born artist and teacher. He painted mostly in a traditional style and is noted for paintings capturing the coastlines of Scotland and the countryside of France. His watercolours display great individuality, and are characterised by a distinctive vitality of colour. He was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) in 1961 and twice served as its Vice-President. He exhibited widely, including at the Royal Scottish Academy and the Society of Scottish Artists.
