FINE REGENCY SUNDERLAND BRIDGE GLASS RUMMER,
the generous bucket bowl wheel engraved with a depiction of a masted ship sailing under the bridge within an oval cartouche, the reverse with the initials WJ over crossed floral sprigs, on a spreading stem to lemon squeezer foot, 14.1cm high
Note: Wearmoth Bridge was constructed between 1793 and 1796 and was the second major bridge to be made from cast iron; it ushered in a stream of commemorative pieces, typically ceramic lustre mugs, with glass instances being rarer.
