1871 PATTERN NICKEL PLATED HELMET TO A TROOPER OF THE FIFE LIGHT HORSE the skull applied with a brass and white metal helmet plate as the Thane of Fife in full armour, seated astride his horse, mounted on a brass ribbed saltire, on a four pointed star below a Queen's crown, with ribbon legend PRO ARIS ET FOCIS, and brass FLH, the spike with white horsehair plume, folded rim, ear rosettes, leather backed chin scales, with leather liner
