A fine assortment

The Jewellery Auction on 29 August saw a variety of items taking the top-selling spots. The retro bracelet at lot 290 featured a chequer board design in white and yellow gold and sold for £550 to a local room buyer. There were three solitaires that topped the rest: lot 174 made £500 and for a 0.51 stone that is a fantastic hammer price. One of the most interesting lots was lot 1, a created sapphire and diamond art deco ring. This soared past estimate to sell for £280, triple its estimate, after a battle between bidders in the room, on the phone and online. It eventually went to a buyer based in the Republic of Ireland.
