McTear's final online jewellery auction of 2017 is open now for bidding. Our Head of Jewellery, Specialist Sarah Cotter, tells us about the auction, her favourite picks and gives tips to bidders.

Jewellery Online is an exclusively online auction featuring over 350 lots, with estimates ranging from over £14,000 to under £100. It presents a great opportunity to spend that Christmas money (you hopefully received!) on something a little special and perhaps unique. There are several certificated diamonds which are rarer to auction and a good range of yellow gold, white gold and platinum jewels.

That goes jointly to Lots 2 and 18 , these are both set with round brilliant cut diamonds of around 3.00 carats each and are estimated at £15,000-20,000 and £12,000-18,000 respectively. Larger diamonds have increased in demand over the last twelve months.

Can I view the auction in person?
There is a one day public view, on Monday15th January 2018 from 10am until 4pm. In advance of that viewing is by online catalogue and we would recommend that you request a condition report for those items that you may be interested in, if you are unable to make it along for the public view.

How do I request a condition report and how long will it take to send to me?
For a number of our specialist sales, condition reports are provided on our website. Additional information can also be requested by sending an email to auction@mctears.co.uk, with the lot number(s) that you enquiring about. In normal circumstances we will reply within 48 hours, however it may take longer over the festive period with McTear’s altered opening hours.

How do I pay for an item I’ve bought?
You will receive an invoice, sent by email, immediately following the completion of the auction. You can then pay by secure online payment, by bank transfer, or in person using a credit or debit card. 

If I buy an item and want to pick up in person when are you open?
We are open Monday to Friday from 830am until 5pm each day, also on Saturday mornings from 830am until midday. Purchases will be available for collection from Tuesday 16^th January.
