Diamond decadence

02/07/2018     Jewellery

Not even the current British heatwave could stop a full house from turning out at McTear’s on Sunday 1 July for the Jewellery Auction. In this lively auction, diamonds bracelets were among the most sought-after items.
Lot 2 in Sunday’s sale was an Edwardian seven stone diamond bracelet.

Set with graduated old cut diamonds, this proved very popular during viewing. After some competitive bidding, this sold for a hammer price of £3000 to a local Glaswegian buyer.
Lot 13 was a beautifully crafted Art Deco diamond bracelet.

With diamonds totalling approximately 13.00 carats overall, this sold for a hammer price of £5000. With wedding season in full swing, one lucky bride will be wearing this on her wedding day as this is being gifted to the successful buyer's daughter – what a lucky lady!
McTear’s sells more jewellery than any other Scottish auction house in the dedicated jewellery auctions that take place twice monthly, run concurrently live online on a platform that attracts six million visitors annually from over 120 countries worldwide.
