One for the Bhoys!

12/07/2019     Medals & Militaria, Sporting Medals & Trophies

If you’re a fan of The Bhoys, the Sporting Medals & Trophies Auction at McTear’s this month won’t disappoint.

Unique facets of the Club’s history such as Tommy Gemmell’s boots from the European Cup Final (lot 1976) and Jinky Johnstone’s jersey from the Intercontinental Cup (lot 1977) are just a couple of the lots which will prove of interest.

Amongst the lots of Celtic F.C. interest include Celtic cheques, letters, cautions and other archival documents, alongside an array of match programmes, including one from the European Cup Final. Jinky’s famous jersey isn’t the only to feature in this auction, as another comprises the jersey worn by Bertie Auld during the Scottish Cup Final of 1969 (lot 2031).

However, if you are a fan of Jinky, then the Jimmy ‘Jinky’ Johnstone Faberge egg designed by Sarah Faberge to commemorate the 1967 European Cup win, may catch your eye. This rare gold and silver Faberge egg is one of only nineteen, and opens to reveal Johnstone modelled in action, poised to kick a diamond studded football. This impressive piece is offered at lot 1915, with an estimate of £10,000-15,000.
