Since 1983 the Scotch Malt Whisky Society has offered members access to unique bottling from single casks of whisky. In recent years these expressions of whisky from Scotland and further afield have gained a wider following in the collecting world, and are now increasingly sought after.
It is with great excitement that we offer in the August 27th auction a selection of whiskies from the first cask bottled from iconic distilleries. The list includes S.M.W.S. 21.1 Glenglassaugh (Lot 762), S.M.W.S. 41.1 Dailuaine (Lot 763), S.M.W.S. 125.1 Glenmorangie (Lot 867), and S.M.W.S. 1.1 Glenfarclas, the fabled first bottling (Lot 760).
Also included in the auction are foreign single cask bottles. S.M.W.S. 119.1 Yamazaki (Lot 863), S.M.W.S. 120.1 Hakusu (Lot 864), S.M.W.S. 116.1 Nikka (Lot 862) and S.M.W.S. 128.1 Penderyn are sure to attract bidding from around the globe.
Also on offer is S.M.W.S. G5.1 Invergordon, representing the world of Grain Whisky.
Several old favourites make welcome reappearances in August. Macallan 1946 (Lot 900), Bowmore 1957 (Lot 751) and Kinclaith 1969 Signatory Vintage (Lot 735) should interest collectors, investors and connoisseurs alike, and also present are several Port Ellen expressions (Lots 678, 682, 917 & 964), a Talisker 8 Year Old (Lot 770), and more beautiful old bottlings of Ireland’s Redbreast (Lot 756).
