Music Sale Hits Right Note

A collection of over 100 instrument and musical equipment lots from one of Glasgow’s leading independent recording studios is set to go under the hammer in Glasgow.

The musical haul from award winning, Empire Studios, includes everything from electric and acoustic guitars, drum kits and amps, to speakers, keyboards and even rare posters featuring some of the world’s top bands.

Amongst the key items in the 100 lot sale will be ten drum kits from leading manufacturers Pearl and Premier, Fender, Epiphone and Yamaha guitars, and an incredible collection of over 40 amps from top makers Marshall, Ampeg and Peavey, amongst others.

In total, the collection is estimated to fetch between £11k and £15k when it goes under the hammer at McTear’s on Friday 26 July.

Commenting on the sale, Empire Studios owner, Jamie Culpan, said: “When we decided to do a clear out, I didn’t quite realise how much we would end up putting to auction. The collection has been amassed over the past ten years and there are some great pieces going under the hammer.”

McTear’s specialist, James Bruce, added: “If there is anyone out there looking to set up a band or renew some kit, then this is the perfect opportunity to get your hands on some top quality instruments and equipment.”

The auction will take place at McTear’s on Friday 26 July.
