Sensational Signed Covers Collection

A fine and noteworthy collection of signed first day covers will come to auction next week.

The collection has stellar provenance, originally prepared by Mr. Ronald Antinori, affectionately known by many in the field as ‘Landy’.

Amongst it are many important examples relating to Celtic F.C.
These include signed testimonial games for legends Billy McNeill, Jimmy Jonhstone, Bobby Lennox, Danny McGrain, Roy Aitken, Tommy Burns, and Packie Bonner.

Alongside these, we see a standout display which takes a detailed look at the 1966/7 European Cup campaign, which includes autographed FDCs from all the rounds Celtic played in on their way to winning the European Cup in 1967. In addition, there are autographed FDCs from the infamous matches against Racing Club of Argentina for the 1967 World Club Championship

The collection is not limited to the Bhoys however, with further Scottish clubs and the international team well represented.

Features include a cover from Scotland’s 1979 Hampden match vs. Argentina (signed by a young Diego Maradona), one from Aberdeen’s 1983 European Cup Winner’s Cup triumph over Real Madrid (including Sir Alex Ferguson), and a St. Mirren 1977 Centenary cover (vs. Liverpool and including the autograph of manager Bob Paisley).
