The maiden lot in the 9 August watches auction is certainly an interesting timepiece with a military background.
Military watches are highly collectable due to their rarity and military appeal. They were created by a handful of watchmakers exclusively for military personnel to aid them on their missions and were manufactured to tight specifications to make them durable and easy to see in bright sunlight or complete darkness
In recent years, we have seen a surge in popularity for military watches with many being snapped up and kept in personal collections for years.
Lot 701 is a Hamilton military watch with the signature black dial and Arabic hour markers. This is a classic, simple military watch design and has had a black leather strap fitted for everyday wear. Estimate £400 - £600.
Viewing for this lot and over 30 others will commence at 12pm on Wednesday 5th August.
